A daily prayer from the New England Conference
Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Scripture Reading: Luke 16:1-13
Merciful God,
we confess
that in times of ease
we trust in wealth
we cling to possessions
we seek after status
we manage our budgets,
we treasure things that fade
we serve mammon.
Show us the foolishness
of our anxious striving.
Teach us to embrace
your upside down economy
your extravagant grace
offered without price.
Loving Gid
who abides in us,
who longs for
communion with us,
who offers usfullness of life,
who searches for us
when we go astray,
who welcomes us with
wide open arms,
whose love overflows
in awell that never runs dry,
teach usto trust and
to serve you
with gladness of heart.
This we pray
In the name of Christ Jesus-
who lives and reigns
with you
and the Holy Spirit now
and forever.
Amen
