A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Today's Prayer

Based on John 6:35, 41-51 (Also referenced John 4:13-14) Gracious Lord You are the bread of life for those who hunger You are the crystal clear cool and pure eternal water for those who thirst Your people are hungry Your people are thirsty So, You offer Yourself to satisfy their hunger and their thirst Your body You offer to satisfy their hunger And Your water you give to quench their thirst But they do not eat, and they do not drink No, though they hunger, they grumble Though they thirst, they doubt Yet, there You stand, in truth and grace In pure and perfect love, You remain Until they become we And, taught by God; drawn to You by Him We then come to You And taste the sweetness of Your bread And are refreshed by waters of our belief Jesus, we come to you, and we believe We, Your people are forever fed We Your people will no longer thirst All because of You Your bread, Your very flesh Your water, Your eternal well Given for the life of the world Oh, precious Lord. You are the bread of life for those who hunger. You are the crystal clear cool and pure eternal water for those who thirst. Amen
