A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Today's Prayer
Holy One, We are thankful and blessed to be alive. We are filled with wonder in our connection … To one another, biologically To the earth, chemically To the rest of the universe, atomically The beauty of your creation is experienced in all the ways that these atoms are put together. And us – a part of this arrangement – are made of the same stuff. And yet, you have made us a little lower than God, and You have given us dominion over the works of your hand. It is all here… Are we also a way for creation and the cosmos to know itself? Creating God, let us never separate nature from nature’s God. Remind us that our lives are a small part of your ecosystem, not the other way around. Let us place resource maintenance and social justice front and center in our stewardship, allowing equity to govern our scarcities. Let us grow in our understanding of the circumstances we face and have the courage to act in ways large and small. Revive our imaginations and sense of wonder in a growing consciousness to discover anew the beauty of Creation. Amen. Rev. Ted Crass, President, The United Methodist Foundation of New England. Inspiration: Proverbs 8.1-4,22-31, Psalm 8, William S. Coffin, Symphony of Science “We Are All Connected.”
