A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Today's Prayer
God of the new year, we are ready to remember Jesus’ baptism and our own. You created us and formed us and in baptism you have called us your own. In the first days of this new year, we long to claim the redemption you have offered. We do not know where the floods and flames will come from in the days ahead, but we trust that you will lead us through without being overwhelmed. We forget how precious we are to you. We disappoint ourselves and others too often and we need to feel the love you have for us. Lift our fears and teach us again all that you have done to secure our lives and our redemption. Help us to live as your redeemed long after we have broken our resolutions for the new year. We pray as those who are precious, honored and loved in your sight and in the name of the one whose baptism opened the heaven of your grace, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
