A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

The passage John 1: 6 is a call for me to the realization that God has a plan for each of us and calls each of us, by name, to witness to our faith. Thank You, Holy One, for calling each of us to your service. We praise and thank you for the example of Jesus who taught us to walk in the light and to be the light for our neighbors. As this year is coming to a close and a New Year is dawning, may your light shine through each of us so we might boldly testify to your great love. Help us to be beacons of love, hope, and justice for all in this world so that 2022 will be a year of transformation. Give us the grace to trust You more!

Trust and Obey When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
