A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Lord, we come to you in prayer, grateful for your sacrifice on the Cross that extends an open invitation to all to come to you. It is an invitation that transcends all of things that we establish and use, either deliberately or unintentionally, to separate us. It is an invitation that says come as you are, come to Christ where there is comfort for your spirits, where there is healing for your soul. Come to the One whose love can weave us together, binding us into something wonderful and pleasing. Come to that perfect place, come to the household of the Almighty, where there is ‘plenty good room’.
This invitation has echoed throughout the ages, speaking to generations long ago, and it speaks to us today. Help us to accept and embrace this invitation and remind us to share this spiritual call to bring all of God’s beautiful diverse creation to that place where there is no divisiveness - only a oneness, that place where we are all equal, where peace is real, and where we are showered in God’s love, mercy, and grace. In the name of the Risen One, we come. Amen.
