1Peter 2:19-25
Verse 25: For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Peter tells early followers they need to submit to suffering, even when it is not “fair.” When I have no control over a situation, I can turn to God for strength. I do not have to look for a reason I am being “punished.” When I allow myself to get angry and to feel wronged, I lose sight of God. God wants me to turn back to Him, always, everyday. Not just on good days when I was treated well, but also on those days I was treated poorly, just for doing the best I could do.
Father God, You are always here with me, ready to comfort and hold me. Help me to remember this. Fair or unfair, things happen. Through It all, you are the same God. I love you, Lord. Amen
