A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar and the members of the Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s prayer
God Down Moses, African American Spiritual
Jesus, you send us out to save the lost sheep and the journey is hard.
Go down Moses Way down in Egypt land Tell all pharaoes to Let my people go!
Our bodies are ravaged, and our souls are weary.
When Israel was in Egypt land Let my people go!
Oppressed so hard they could not stand Let my people go!
We search for peace and welcome, it does not come.
So the God said: go down, Moses Way down in Egypt land Tell all pharaoes to Let my people go!
You tell us to speak in your name and the words will be given, yet they do not listen.
So moses went to Egypt land Let my people go!
He made all pharaoes understand Let my people go! Yes the lord said: go down, Moses Way down in Egypt land Tell all pharaoes to Let my people go!
Come Lord Jesus, Come. Amen
