A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis
During these difficult days, members of the Green Mountain District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today’s prayer
Based on Psalm 17
God of our cry and plea; God of our vindication; The world is filled with evil plans. The wicked try to destroy others. They scheme to bring others down, hiding and waiting for their chance. They hunger for prey that satisfies their own bellies and selfish needs. They are callous, pitiless and arrogant. Turn your ears and hear our prayers, O God! Rise up, and stand against them! Rescue the world and save the righteous! Turn to your people and show the wonders of your great love. We wait for your right hand and your salvific wings. We long for seeing your face and your righteousness. Come! Quickly come and take action, O God! You - our vindication!
