A daily prayer during this COVID-19 crisis

During these difficult days, members of the Green Mountain District of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today’s prayer

Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live. I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.

God of Love, Let us give an ear to your Love like the music that seeks out each person. Like a birdsong, or a mother’s rhyme through a doting smile Your Love for us greets us in the morning And shields us while we sleep. Your Love is the energizing rhythm that compels us to dance And pounds in our chests with a deep bass. Your Love is the cheerful song of praise That resounds in the highest rafters And echoes in unremembered chambers. Your Love is the exalting songs of David And the tune caught on the hum of a passing stranger. God, Let us hold your Love in our hearts as we would a treasured song. Let us dance and praise your gracious music. And help us to understand those who dance differently than ourselves, Because the music, your Love, is universal and everlasting. Amen.
