A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Read Psalm 9: 9-20
Holy and Most powerful God, Creator, and Healer, We want to thank you for all the blessings that have been given to us, both recognized and yet unrecognized. We know that you have been faithful in your promises to us. With the darkness around us, Lord, and recognizing our human condition, it is not always easy to put our trust in you, so we ask you to calm our fears and fill us with your hope, joy, and peace as we turn to you. Wrap your loving arms and surround the world with your grace. Inspire us to continue to seek, speak out, and act for justice even though it opens the doors of conflict and disagreement over the avenues we choose. We know your love for each of us and we seek your mercy especially knowing that none of us are perfect. We need your grace and mercy to deliver us. Help us recognize and refine our ways so that we can be more loving as we seek to discern your way. Be with us this day, holding our heads high, with a vision of justice for all as we seek to transform the world in your name. We ask these things through the name of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. Rich Hughen, Conference Lay Leader
