A Daily Devotional for Monday, July 19

Psalm 30: 4-5

Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

I believe with all my heart God wants us to be joyful. Rejoicing comes in the morning. This is our reset each day. I am not joyful every day, though. I allow way too many things to make me angry, or to worry me or to just preoccupy my heart and mind. If I wake up without joy, I would like to be reminded of this verse. There are things I have no control over, and I allow them to swallow me too often. Rejoicing comes in the morning.

Lord, thank you for giving me a new day to feel your presence and to appreciate and worship you. Amen

Psalm 30:4-5 In the first three verses of Psalm 30, we find David recounting the beautiful ways God had saved him . It was not enough for David to simply praise; he wanted others to join in his song, to sing alongside him. I Think when Christian people come together it is impossible to stop them from singing. Not only should Christians be a singing people, but we should be a thankful people We have much to give thanks for… sometimes I feel thankless. And than the holy spirit steps in reminding me to remember God’s holy Name, his excellencies, His perfections, his glory. I pray always that I will see God for who He is! And as I do, I w…

Psalm 30:4-5

The psalmist tells us even God has flashes of anger, but despite this, His love for us remains steadfast. I think of this unshakable relationship when I remember the times in my relationship with Becky and our children when flashes of anger have reared its ugly head. Have I lived and am I living my life in such a way that they know without an iota of doubt that my favor for them is forever?

Prayer - God of families, please kindle every morning in the hearts of Becky, Anthony, Kay and Kenny that their husband and earthly father, just as their Heavenly Father, loves them with an everlasting love. Amen

Psalm 30: 4-5

5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

As we go through life we all experience difficulty and pain. Sometimes these experiences are brought on by a careless attitude or a sin against God. I know that when this happens, God is only momentarily angry and forgives me. This knowledge brings me great joy as I continue to travel through this life and do better.

Dearest Lord, no matter what heartache or pain I go through in this life, I know you are there for me. The heartache is replaced with joy. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
