John 14: 25-26
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
This couldn’t be much clearer. If I have ever wondered, Jesus has already clarified. The Holy Spirit is to be our guide after Jesus leaves his earthly being. Just like Jesus was sent in the Father’s name, the Holy Spirit will be sent in Jesus’s name.
Father God, thank you for this day, and for the breath to live. I will make my heart a comfortable home for your Holy Spirit today. Amen

"...the Counselor, the Holy Spirit ... he will teach you all things..."
These words are a powerhouse. Since no mere man can know 'all things' this phrase must imply 'all things that you need to know at this time'. One must ask the question, listen for the answer, and say thank you!
Some time later I was reminded of 1 Kings 19:12 "... a wee small voice."
Thank you Lord for sending the Holy Spirit in my times of need. Amen
John 14: 25-26
This Is one of the verses of Scripture in which each person of the Trinity plays a role. The Son speaks, the Father sends and the Holy Spirit is sent to be our Advocate. The other synonyms that have been noted really give a sense of the support we have in the Holy Spirit if we are attentive. The Holy Spirit is enjoying something a renewal after being relatively ignored in the pulpit as well as the pews. This was a mistake that has cost the church dearly, but the Spirit has not give up on us and remains prepared as always to guide our speech, our actions and our hearts in the path of God’s Kingdom…
John 14:25–26 Depending upon which translation you read, the Holy Spirit is described as, our advocate, our comforter or helper, a counselor, or friend. All of these words describe the Holy Spirit beautifully. I really like “Message” calling the Holy Spirit a friend. For me a friend is someone I love and who loves me. A friend can be told anything and often leads me to the right path. How blessed we are to have such a friend as the Holy Spirit. Prayer: gracious God, thank you Jesus for realizing that we needed, even 2000 years ago, a friend. Amen
John 14: 25-26 All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
I received Confirmation when I was in the 6th grade. At this time the Holy Spirit was bestowed upon me. However, I did not know or think of the Holy Spirit until I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. This opens my heart to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives me help and advice for living the Christian life here on earth.
Dearest Lord, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to my heart. He nudges…
John 14:25-26 “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Hole Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
The word “advocate” gives me a different understanding of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is sent to be a supporter of Jesus, a reminder to me to follow Jesus every day. He is my conscience meant to guide my actions, not just a go-between God and me.
Dear Lord, thank for sending your advocate to me. I often wish his volume was a little louder, but I will listen more intently for His guidance.
