A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, September 7

2 Chronicles 30: 9b

”He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”

This could also be my life verse! God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is my God, even if I forget and wander away, He is there for me, listening and waiting. This is true grace. He will never turn away from me, and I know this is true because of scripture passed down thousands of years and because of my experience here, now.

Heavenly Father, you are steadfast and constant. By your grace alone I know this to be true. Thank you, Lord.

2 Chronicles 30: 9a

God is working within me to renew my thoughts, actions, and words; so I will continue to reflect the character and action of Jesus. God did not forsake Jesus on the cross, and God will never forsake me even when I mess up. NO! Jesus promises to never leave us or forsake us. I want to be gracious and merciful with others and myself in the same way God is merciful with me. Lord, forgive me for the many times I’ve tried to pay for my own mistakes and sins. Jesus paid fully on the cross for my sins. Help me to extend this same grace and mercy to others….. amen Sent from my iPad

2 Chronicles 30: 9b “for the Lord you God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”

This verse is so very true to me. For a very long time I did not practice the religion I was born into, but I never gave up on prayer. I never thought that God would forgive me for turning my back on him for such a long time. What I have found out in being introduced to the Bible is that God will never give up on me. He waits until I realized the need I had for him in worshiping him each Sunday. This time with him in Church is so impor…

2 Chronicles 30: 9b ”He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”

There have been times during my life when God and his word were not important to me. I do believe that the Church’s teaching stayed with me during those times because I never thought that God would not forgive me or love me when I returned. My faith tells me this but it is still necessary to be reinforced through readings like this.

Dear Lord, thank you for words that tell me you have been there for me and will continue to be my support forever. Amen.

2 Chronicles 30:9b For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you. God makes it so simple for us. We are human; we sin. But if we simply ask, he forgives and offers his grace. How blessed we are that it is that easy. Ask and you shall receive. Prayer, gracious God your words offer us so much reassurance of your grace freely given. Thank you. Amen

2 Chronicles 30: 9b - ”He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”

I am reminded of the thief next to Jesus and the laborers who collected a full day’s wages for an hour of work. In our time, an example may be David Berkowitz, who was known as the “Son of Sam” during his killing spree in New York in the 1970s. Berkowitz, sentenced to several life sentences, claims to have come to Christ while in prison. Skeptics were quick to ridicule this as some sort of stunt aimed at getting paroled, but Berkowitz remains imprisoned, accepting of his punishment and working in the prison library and identifying himself as a follower of Jesus.…
