Matthew 6: 19-21
”Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
It is so true- the “things” I cherish the most are of no real earthly value, but they enrich my life more than any bottom line. This is something I must work to remember at times. Relationships, love, memories, shared experiences, encounters with God- these are real treasures. I believe these are the things we will have with us always, and bring with us to heaven.
Holy Father, you lead me each day. You bring me to opportunities, and these are treasures. I thank you for a heart that feels deeply and loves fiercely. Help me to lead others to know you better. Amen

Matthew 6:19-21
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
I read that Jesus knows that our struggle is an issue of the heart---not what we do or don’t do. Jesus knows that what we treasure is reflected on how we live. Do I treasure Jesus, or do I treasure the world? I find that even though I have beautiful things that I keep and have meaning to me, these are just a remembrance of gifts from people I love. What I realize now is that the biggest treasure is knowing Jesus and attempting to follow in his footsteps.
Dearest Lord, this life is a struggle but knowing you are there for me helps me live…

I am told over and over I can trade like warren Buffet or buy the same stocks that Elon Musk holds. Each and every one is deleted without reading. An obsession to store up treasure on earth distracts from what really matters and hardens the heart. The treasures of faith stored in heaven make for a much more spiritually healthy heart and a sense of contentment no material possession can provide.

Matthew 6:19–21 The word treasures conjures up the picture of a trunk full of jewels, pearls, and lots of gold coins you can run your fingers through. Again, this picture is of things. How do you find this treasure – usually a map with a big X that marks the spot. Where is our map that will lead us to God. Many years ago my granddaughter very confidently told me the map to God was the Bible! (Out of the mouths of babes) The Bible is our treasure. It is full of all we need to live a life as God intended. It isn’t always easy, but all the directions are right there. Prayer: gracious God, I thank you again for th…
