Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Moses speaks to Israel before they cross the Jordan. Even though he is forbidden to go himself, he knows he has these last words to say to Israel. Instead of being bitter and angry and holding back because of his own situation, he finishes what God has asked him to do. He assures the Israelites that God will go before them into the promised land. He encourages them to be bold. Moses has himself come such a long way in his lifetime, from the insecure confused young man in Egypt to his final days as leader of God's chosen people. The story of Moses' life is full of examples of God bringing courage and boldness to his people.
God above, you led Moses and he led your people. Help me to see your hand in my every day, to look for and listen for your guidance, and to follow You always. Amen

We need to remember that at all we do, all we say, and all we be – God will be ahead of us. He is always there to keep away our fears and give us strength to keep on going during hard times. That knowledge is so important! We are never truly alone.
Prayer: gracious God, I know you are always near to me and are guiding my steps. Amen

Deuteronomy 31:6

Deuteronomy 31:6 The admonition to be strong and courageous is encountered many time in Scripture. These are not qualities that we can just put on like a pair of shoes. They become embedded in us when we claim the promise that God will never leave, nor forsake us. Jesus ushered the Holy Spirit into the world as God’s continuing presence to give believers the strength and courage we need to be ambassadors for the kingdom of heaven.
Prayer - Steadfast and eternal God, let me take comfort and be secure in the knowledge of Your promised presence In good times and in bad. Let that promise make me strong and courageous when I most need the strength and courage to live…
