John 15:16
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit- fruit that will last- and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."
These are Jesus' words, spoken to his disciples. How do they apply to me? If I try to see my life as the life of a disciple, in this time and place, I don't measure up. But I do believe Jesus' message would remain the same. God called me, Jesus teaches me, and sends the Holy Spirit to accompany and help me. My calling is to love God's creation, every bit of it.
Holy One, you have called me to follow you and to love my neighbor. I have an idea, and will move forward with it today. I have felt you nudging me, and I know that is an answer to my prayers. I am thankful. Amen

John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Before the world was made, before sin came in, God chose you and I in Christ to be with Him though all eternity. Jesus said, you did not choose Me, but I chose you.
The first question is, Why?. Why would God choose us What goodness or value did God see in us that He would choose us as His children. There is absolutely no value or goodness that caused God to choos…
John 15:16
It is quite humbling to think that I do what I do for Him because He chose me. Me! Why me? I guess God always sees the real us. He knows better than we do what we are capable of. I know I have often questioned what I was trying to do, especially when it didn’t seem to be helping and I was frustrated. Then, suddenly, things fell into place (God stepped in) and I understood how to make it all work.
Prayer: Gracious God, we need to remember that our help comes from the Lord. We need only ask. Amen
