Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
This is one of those verses we can go to on our own, and find comfort. Suffering is so very personal and unique. God wants us to comfort each other, in the here and now. This is the world He created and where he placed us, although we have not always taken good care of it. When we suffer, we know it is a part of this earthly life. Keeping our suffering in perspective is important, but I am not always good at remembering. This earthly life is a moment, but being in the presence of God and His glory will be for all eternity.
Holy Father, Help me, remind me, show me please, when I allow my earthly concerns to overshadow my hope and faith. Amen

Romans 8:18 The glory, the joy, the hope – all will be revealed to us. We need to remember that this is not the only life we will have. Our troubles now will be gone. This glory, this joy, this hope is ours as believers. At funerals we often hear things like “now she is dancing in heaven with those gone before.“ What a comfort for us knowing earthly limitations will be gone and a new life will begin. Prayer: Gracious God, thank you for this reminder of the wonderful things to come to us someday. Amen
Romans 8:18 While we don’t give thanks for the thing afflicting us, we can give all the glory to God for his faithful presence. When thinking of this verse this way I find that thanking God when I’m hurting does make perfect sense. I haveto give grateful praise to God in all aspects of my life. Thankful for being saved , for being redeemed, thankful that he is going and prepare a place for me, suffering will end And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away if I get discouraged I read …
Romans 8:18
This verse amplifies yesterday’s verse. The glories of heaven will so eclipse any suffering we experience in life, Paul says it does not even warrant comparison. My hope is that this is a great encouragement for those who have suffered and/or are suffering. For me, who has suffered little, my aim is to focus more on the thin places I mentioned yesterday to keep Paul’s message fresh and exciting and perhaps to help someone who is suffering.
Prayer - Glorious God, Your creation, Your works, Your gifts to us are all signposts of Your glory and the glory in which we will share for eternity in heaven. Let me be so secure in this knowledge that when I…
Romans 8: 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
I think of the times I felt that the life challenge of the moment was more than I could bear, and I think of what Jesus went through for me and it does not compare in comparison. I will try not to complain when I am faced with another of life’s challenges. I will bear it knowing that it is nothing compared to what Jesus suffered for me. I look forward to the glory promised by the Father and this will help get through this tough time.
Dearest Lord, give me the grace not to complain when you…
