Isaiah 40:28
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
The last phrase in this passage jumps out at me this morning. I suppose it is human nature to always be trying to figure everything and everybody out. We long to know God’s plan and his intentions for us and for the rest of His creation. Over these thousands of years, we have not been able to do so. But Jesus boiled it down for us. We are to love God and love one another. This is the part of God’s plan we are able to fathom. This piece of “his understanding” has been made clear to us by Jesus.
Holy Lord, you choose to keep much of your plan hidden from us. We seek to understand and to know you better. Help me to be satisfied with the understanding I do have, while I continue to seek you out, and to draw closer to you. Amen

Isaiah 40:28
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
Simply put, our Lord is the God who lives forever, who created all the world. He does not become tired or need to rest. No one can understand how great his wisdom is. He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to those who are weak. We simply need to have trust and faith in a God who loves you and I, and wants every good thing for us. We are not in charge. So just let it…
Isaiah 40:28 from The Message
Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything inside and out.
I have really enjoyed this week’s readings about God’s character. We all need reminders now and then about how very consistent his love and care is for us. This verse is very important to read or hear when you begin to question God and his place in your life. Just remember, He is always there and he is always ready. He is never too busy to listen to you. Sometimes we question his pre…
Isaiah 40:28
I suppose it is human nature to try to sort out God’s understanding. I know I am often left confused and even disappointed by how events in our world unfold, wondering where God is or what God’s plan may be in a given situation. Learning to trust that God is our tireless and everlasting Creator is a day to day task, a task that is sometimes difficult. The best I can do is get to work on building that trust for today.
Prayer - Sovereign God, my grasp of Your understanding is tenuous at best. Grant me the perseverance necessary to do the part You have assigned to me to promote Your kingdom in this world so desperate…
