Psalm 23
Such beautiful, poetic verses. It reads like a letter of thanks, to one who has been, and is, vitally important in the writer's life. This psalm puts a "right relationship with God" into words. If I ever need to be reminded, if I feel separated from God or somehow alone, I need to remember these words from David.
Holy Lord, you are my shepherd, my leader, my guide and moral compass. You protect and comfort me. You provide for me, and shower me with blessings, and you promise to be with me forever. I am so thankful. Amen

Psalm 23
Those of us 60 years old or older probably memorized this verse in Sunday school. I can remember being quite proud of my third grade self for conquering this long verse. This past Sunday Hillside held their worship service at Bel-Air Nursing Home in their dining room. It is always an uplifting experience to allow the residence to “go “to church. As I read the 23rd Psalm, KJV, I could see bright eyes and I could hear the residents saying it with me. It brought me so much joy. We also sang the old familiar hymns and the choir sang “In the Garden.” This service was designed for them! Kudos to Pastor Jen
Prayer: gracious God, what joy…
This is my very favorite Bible verse. Of all the Psalms this bring me such peace in times of doubt or in need to calming when in a difficult situation. I learned to recite these verses in Sunday school many years ago.
Dear Lord, May I always remember Psalm 23 in uncertain times or when I am weary from an upsetting situation. Thank you for this beautiful reminder that you are always there for me.
Amen.

Psalm 23:1-6
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. ...
Psalm 23 is one of the most loved and well-known passages in all of Scripture. It’s easy to become so…
Psalm 23 When God leads, we we end up beside still waters. When we insist on our own way we find ourselves walking in the valley of the shadow of death. The Good News, the comfort we are assured of is that even when we do that, God walks beside us. David foreshadows the gift of the Holy Spirit in this psalm of worship and praise. When those trials come, we must remember that in this world we will have trouble, but Jesus, our Savior has overcome the world.
Prayer - Lord, as our lives seemingly careen from still waters to horrible valleys, let us always remember You are walking beside us and the trials we face now are nothing…
