2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
These verses remind me that as we learn to trust God in all circumstances, and we lean on Him, we become better able to allow and invite others to lean on us, surrounding them in Christian love. I hope that in my professional life, my faith in God is evident to those who are in need or searching for comfort. Sometimes I am not able to be as explicit as I would like, and I wonder what God would have me say or do. Today I ask God to lead me and guide me to comfort others in a loving, Christian way. I thank God for this holiday of love and fellowship and family. May God comfort those who find themselves alone or sad today. Amen

2 Corinthians 1:2-4
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
We all have struggles. We encounter those around us who are also struggling. My first step is try not to solve their problems but just to hear and understand what they are going through. Second, I should try to be more aware of the fact that…
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
It is very clear in these verses. We accept God’s comfort but that means we are to comfort others. These are “doing” words of instruction. So much of what we read in our Bibles are instructions for us to live as God would have us live. I can’t think of anything better to do for friends and family—offer them comfort.
Prayer: Gracious God, I know you are always with me when I need you most. May I offer that same comfort to those around me. Amen
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Paul grabs our attention by using the word “comfort” four times in four verses. This is not mere repetition, but a circular cascade, a whirlpool that is life-affirming with unlimited potential for growth. This is a day we set aside to specifically offer thanks for the comforts God’s blessings bring. Let us strive to remember to pass blessings on to others as part of our thanksgiving.
Prayer - God of all comfort, I come before You with humble thanksgiving and praise for all You have provided for me and those whom I deeply love. Let me be an instrument of Your peace and comfort to them as well. Amen
