Hebrews 4:12-16

verse 13: Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The next time I am feeling misunderstood or under-appreciated, I need to remember this verse. God sees the context, the entirety, of our lives. He sees how everything plays out, how each one of us responds in thought and action. He sees how we treat one another. God is the one I am living my life to please. I can’t hide my mean or judgmental thoughts from Him. I can only ask God create a clean heart in me. Help me, Lord, to be the kind and generous person you intended for me to be. I can’t hide from you. I need you, God. Amen

I sometimes wonder if God looks at me and shakes his head. I know how often my best intentions go awry. My busy life gets in the way of spending time with God. How selfish I have become to not make time for the only reason I exist. God sees me and knows my thoughts. I cannot hide anything from God. I will attempt to do better each day.

Dearest Lord, you know all my thoughts and witness all my actions. I cannot hide anything from you. I want to…

Hebrews 4:12-16

16. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

I attended my friend’s funeral yesterday. When we were young adults he talked as if he were an atheist or at least an agnostic, even though his grandfather was a Methodist minister and he had grown up in the church. As I sat looking at his picture yesterday I kept hoping that he was with God. His family had a very religious service, so I hoped that he had come around to believe again. If so, I know that God would accept him as he is.

Dear Lord, some of…
