Exodus 18:13-27
Verse 23: “If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.“
Moses’ father-in-law , Jethro, teaches Moses about delegating responsibility. I love how he includes God’s will in his advice. Nothing will work if it is not part of God’s will. But, God also wants us to be reasonable, to recognize our own limitations, and to allow others to do their part. No one individual can be all things to all people. We can, and we must, share the load and work together. There is room for everyone to do their part.
Father God, today your Word reminds me I am part of a team. No one person or one leader is responsible for all of the work there is to do for your Kingdom. We must all be willing to delegate, and to be given roles and responsibilities to further your Kingdom. I am your servant. Amen
