A Daily Devotion for Thursday, July 15

Romans 8: 28-39

verses 38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If I am wholly able to give myself up to God, I must know these words to be true. I am in no real danger here on this planet earth, even though it can be very painful and difficult. God‘s love endures all of the difficulties I could possibly imagine. I do fear painful times, sickness, change. But God’s love does not change and this is more important than any worry or concern I may have.

Father God, Help me to feel your presence and your love, and help those as they go through painful times to feel embraced and loved by you. Please heal Greg, and give his mom peace of mind. She is such a strong and faithful woman. Amen

Thinking on todays devotion I go back to the command that we forgive not 7 times but 70 times 7. With God's help we can do this. Nothing can separate us from the love of God if we follow his teachings. We all have shortcomings but can strive to do better. Every day is a new day that we can start fresh and hear that still small voice that is present in our lives.

Romans 8:31-32 - “What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else?”

I have seen several videos over the years of people getting to formally meet for the first time or reunite after many years with a person who literally saved their life, sometimes with little regard for their own. These moments are packed with emotion. Once we understand and accept the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, how can we respond with anything less than devotion and to follow His example in living our lives…

Romans 8:28–39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God‘s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God‘s love. No power in the sky or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Paul wrote these beautiful words to assure us that our faith can offer comfort in difficult times. In some versions Paul says convinced or absolutely convinced or I am sure. Knowing a loving God is always there loving us ca…

Romans 8:28-39R

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. All things – good, bad, easy, hard, everything we meet in life – work together for our benefit, not just isolated issues. His words bring comfort and peace no matter the circumstance. We’ve experienced a lot of hard things this past year and a half and yet I see a lot of good that is coming as a result. It’s been a reminder that sometimes our plans are not God’s plans, but we can see Him in every person, thing, and circumstance. We can see His grace amidst the panic and suffering if…

Romans 8: 28-39

39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sometimes I worry if God may give up on me. That he’s finally had enough of my shortcomings. Is he saying “there she goes again, haven’t I told her often enough not to do those things?” I feel that is when faith comes into play. I know that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness and it will be granted.

Hebrews 11: 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he…
