A Daily Devotion for Thursday, January 18

Philippians 1:4-6

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

If I am living in God's will, listening for Him and seeking Him, He will continue to work on me. He provides the increase. I cannot make myself a better person without Him. God will not give up on me.

Holy Lord, I am so thankful for your presence, always, and everywhere. You have shown me your active presence in my life, and I am thankful you have promised to continue to mold me and make me a better person. Amen

Philippians 1:4-6

I love that Paul’s memories of his church at Phillipi bring him joy. Joy is a difficult emotion for some people. His church was such a good partner in knowing and spreading the Good News. I know I leave my time with the folks at Bel-Air feeling joyful. My hope is always that something I read, something I did, or something I sand stirred a lost memory for at least one person around the table. I do believe that happens and that brings me joy. God has provided me with this opportunity.

Prayer: Gracious God Thank you for the joy I feel as I do your work. Amen

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Paul is saying God is the one who started a good work in us and he is the one who will finish it , and he saids this with such great joy. . So how do we allow God to do his work without trying to interfere. How can I be patient as he accomplishes what needs to be done instead of taking matters i…

Philippians 1:4-6

This scripture is exciting to me, it reminds me of a few instances that as a Sunday school teacher we not only teach but learn as we go, but joy that come is when that one student looks at you ”I get it I understand and Jesus is in my heart and I Believe” how powerful is that young’ child excitement and pure innocence of knowing Jesus, says it all to me there’s the good work spreading the good news,

Dear Lord, thank you for those many special blessing weather it’s a young child in Sunday School or teens in youth group or a weary Christian that just need reassurance, help me to continue to be blessed by…

Philippians 1:4-6 I pray for a man named Ramtin, who I read about in the Voice of the Martyrs magazine. I bring this up because this verse is used in the prayer for him. He is an Iranian who converted to Christianity from Islam and began evangelizing others at the risk of his own life. It eventually became too dangerous to be seen in public and he fled to a nearby country. Though still dangerous, he continues to share Christ with Muslims in his new home. God is continuing the good work began in Ramtin and his dedication assures it will continue. Can we identify what good work God has provided for us and strive to let God carry it on…
