Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
When we go to God in despair, we are not just looking for a "silver lining". When we know God, and his Holy Spirit lives within us, we have a path back to joy. I believe that this path is God's way of "working for the good". It is, indeed, a path which is available to everyone, but it also must be sought out.
Holy Father, you have a way of showing me the good in life, the good in difficult situations. Sometimes, I know, the pain will overshadow everything for a while. Be with us, Lord, hear our prayers, and bring joy back to those who have lost loved ones and relationships. I ask these things with humility, in Jesus' name. Amen

I know that God is not the cause of any of the challenges I have faced in this life. When I think of all the suffering Paul went through in his life, his faith in God saw him through. God makes our suffering work for good. We should never despair, no matter what challenges are given to us. God is always there working behind the scenes to see us through them and to make us stronger.

Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
How long could I go without a source of income. If I didn’t have a paying job for a few months or even a year, would I still be able to trust that God was working everything together for my good. It makes me wonder if I have ever heard God’s call. But in moments when God’s timeline doesn’t appear to match up with my expectations, I can trust God’s promises.
