Psalm 126 1-2
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.
Laughter can be an expression of joy and thankfulness. In this psalm laughter is described as a part of worship and a result of thanking God for His blessings. When we are thankful and full of joy, laughter comes more easily.
Lord God, help me to remember all of your many blessings, and experience the joy of true thankfulness. Amen

Psalm 126 1-2 We may have all experienced a positive reversal of fortune similar to that described in these verses. Laughter is spontaneous in these situations and for many reasons. The assurance we are loved and cared for by the Sovereign of the universe undergirds that feeling so pleasurable it produces a laugh.
Gracious God, thank You for standing between me and disaster so often and so predictably that it can actually make me laugh. Amen
Psalm 126: 1-2 These verses brought back memories of the many reunions I have witnessed on television. I especially recalled children running to a parent and seeing tears and laughter as they are gathered up in an embrace. I know as I watched, I was thinking God for these moments. Prayer: gracious God, This Psalm gives us hope that there will be joy and laughter after difficult times in our lives. Amen
Psalms 126:1-2 When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
This Psalm tells me that trouble and sorrow do not last. It is a message of hope. It tells me that God will turn my sorrow and tears to joy and laughter. Sometimes this is very hard to believe, but God works in a different way and with time you realize that whatever you are going through, it gets better. God will give me the grace to rise above the tears and laugh again.
Dearest Lord, you…
