2Timothy 2:1-4
verse 4: No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs- he wants to please his commanding officer.
Let me begin by apologizing for the picture- it is distracting, but fills me with love. God’s gifts are amazing and beautiful! ❤️
In the verse from 2Timothy, we are reminded to keep our eyes on God. There are so many things in the world to take away our time and energy, and many disguise themselves as “worthy causes.” Unless they are Godly causes, I should not be expending my time and energy on them. That being said, I am sure God has His hand in many causes that might surprise us. Being a good steward can be done in a lot of different ways. Loving our neighbor may take the form of collecting donations for cancer research or advocating for social programs. But, as Pastor Gil has said many times, God looks at what is in our heart. God is my master, my commanding officer, my boss. In my world, He is in charge, and I need to remember this whenever I make a decision about how to spend my time and energy.
Holy Father, I look to you for direction. Help me, please, to make good decisions with my time. You are in charge. Amen
