A Daily Devotion for Nov. 26, Thursday

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14, 16-18

I read these passages with mixed emotions, because I know what I want them to be saying, but they don’t exactly say it. I realize Paul was reassuring the people, not wanting them to worry about those who had died while awaiting Jesus’ second coming. I guess I want to believe we don’t have to wait for Jesus’ second coming in order to go to Heaven and be with God. Any clarification on this point in scripture would be appreciated! ❤️ On a happier note, I am thankful for everything God has created, all His blessings and all His Grace. I wish my brain could have a better understanding of God’s will and his plan, but I also know God has given me everything I need, and much more. On this Thanksgiving day, I am truly thankful. God, you are so good! Amen

20201126 Thursday, Daily Devotion - 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 (NIV)

17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

The happiest thing in my life is to stay with the person I love for a long time. From today’s verse, Paul told the faithful companions in Christ that “We will be with the Lord forever.” The people in Thessalonica must be very encouraged and happy when they received this letter. This promise is not Paul’s thought but the promise Jesus said to His disciples when…
