Proverbs 27:19
As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.
Short and simple, but this verse from Proverbs seems worth a closer look. Again, we are reminded we cannot tell what is in a person's heart by looking at them. I am reminded of all of the funerals I have had the honor of attending as pianist. Often I thought I knew the person, from church, or may have only known them very superficially. Each and every time I was amazed to hear of each life, dreams, successes and failures, how they loved, and how they followed Christ. Their lives reflected their love. I have often thought about this very concept. Does my life reflect my love for Christ and my love for others? It needn't be showy or advertised, but I would like my life to be driven by love.
Holy Lord, thank you for your Word. You continue to teach me, day after day, and I am grateful. Amen

Proverbs 27:19
Some people have hearts so loving and giving and yet few people know about them and that’s OK with them. They do not do things for recognition or awards. Those closest to them know their heart and they are the only ones that matter. One of my book clubs recently read about someone with a huge heart. The book is “Life in a Jar” that takes place in the Warsaw Ghetto as the Nazis occupied it. I’m so glad I read it. Irene Sendler’s heart was simply amazing.
Prayer: Gracious God, I see that even in desperate situations, you often put a person who will make a difference. A “savior” so to speak. Thank You. Amen

Proverbs 27:19
As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.
God wants us to have a pure heart. He wants us to follow his guidance because it is the right thing to do. He wants us to be motivated by love. It is so important to do what ever it is we are doing because of love, love for God and love for others. (love for certain people is sometimes very difficult for me to do.) it}’s a good idea to regularly take time and ask myself why am I doing this, would God be pleased with my real reasons. God does not want to be impressed with my action…
Proverbs 27:19
If we touch other lives for Christ the impact of our life will be felt long after our face is no longer a distinct memory. Last night Becky and I watched a movie about a Vatican-based Monsignor, Hugh O’Flaherty, who organized a network that rescued thousands and escaped Allied prisoners of war and Jews from the Nazi occupation of Rome. Amazingly, the Nazi Major in charge of the brutal occupation forces, Herbert Kappler, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for war crimes in Italy, was known to have only one visitor over many years. It was a monthly visit from Msgr. Hugh O’Flaherty who baptized Kappler into the Catholic faith in 1959. I would not recognize a random…
Proverbs 27:19 This reminds me of another scripture lesson as a youth its from James 1:22-26
Dear Lord, Thank you for reminding me that action speaks louder than words what reflects in my face needs to reflect in my heart By my actions and daily life..Amen
