Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.
This verse implies it will actually change the way we think, and change the way we see the world as we grow closer to God. I can say this does happen to me now, from time to time, when I am faced with a decision. I may hear the Holy Spirit speaking in my ear and recognize that my decision can honor God. In the past I may have more often gone with what felt the most comfortable, or gave me the most "free time". I still do this, I am sure, but I am also "transforming"!
Holy Lord, help me to see your will, your "good, pleasing and perfect will." Amen

Romans 12:2
To know what God’s will is, we need to be still and listen for the Holy Spirit. In today’s world, it is sometimes hard to be still. Our culture bombards us with much noise. Our time in church, in prayer, and in study can help us shut out the noise so we can listen and try to discern what God wants us to be. All these things can help transform us to do your will not our own.
Prayer: gracious God, I know I can shut out the noise of the world and be with you. Remind me to do this each day. Amen

Because I want to follow God’s will, my mind needs to be transformed. I need a disciplined mind to be in agreement with God’s word. With the help of the Holy Spirit
I will act differently. I know I act differently and by God’s grace I will continue to be transformed. Thinking right thoughts will continue to change me. The world will always pressure us to live sinfully and selfishly, but to live the good life God wants from…
Romans 12:2 This is when we clear the dance floor to give Bev room to expound in her life verse😉 I’m sure Romans 12:2 is a life verse for many. It is likely the most concise description of spiritual discernment ever written. Worldly pursuits offer us nothing of eternal value. Who would choose mere conforming when transforming offers so much more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Transformation allows us to see the world in a way that produces thanks and praise rather than greed and envy. This is the kind of discernment that brings us closer to God and attracts others to join in the process of transformation.
