Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.
These verses point out what is perhaps more important than resolving conflict: how to keep from creating conflict. I do believe it is wrong to avoid conflict at all costs, because sometimes it is necessary. But if we try to be generous when we can be, and always fair, we will certainly experience less conflict than otherwise. I think understanding where another is coming from is the key.
Holy Lord, with the help of your Holy Spirit, may I see through the eyes of others, and avoid being selfish. May I prevent conflict with generosity and selflessness. Amen

Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
We have learned through the teachings of God’s word to care for others. God loves when we take the attention off ourselves and take time to really consider others, because we learn that not everything is about us. We live in a big world, and the God we serve is even bigger. When we isolate ourselves and isolate our thoughts to only think of the things that concern me, myself and I. When we have this attitude of selfishness we…
Philippians 2:3-4
“Can’t we all just get along?” A famous quote from a difficult time in our recent history. This section of my Bible is titled, Have the Attitude of Christ. It seems to me that if we follow the lesson in these verses, there should be little or no conflict to resolve. If we spend more time trying to understand others we might find that they are really just like us. What a wonderful goal to work toward.
Prayer: Gracious God, my prayer today is that more of us work toward understanding others and less time about ourselves. Amen
Philippians 2:3-4
This speaks to my questions on the others scriptures this past week.well after trying to resolve issues it’s like hitting your head against the wall..get witnesses confront the issues and do nothing??? No as individuals you say okay and it goes inward take care of yourself but no value others and their interests so I do understand some what that one needs to learn humble yourself and think of others..
Dear Lord, I come today in prayer for patience understanding and help to be humble and learn the interest of others. Amen
Philippians 2:3-4
“Selfish ambition and vain conceit” sound so bad yet they are routinely encountered at every level from the person cutting the line at Walmart to an international corporation destroying the environment to boost profits. The original sin we bear, characterized by the pride behind these actions, can only be mitigated by the grace of the Holy Spirit within us that leads us to put the interest of others in front of our own. The cynic sees this as life as a punching bag, but the follower of Christ sees the beauty in cooperative fellowship that honors and glorifies God.
Prayer - Spirit of God, purge me of every tendency toward selfish ambition and vain conceit. Let me model…
