1Corinthians 6:17
But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. (Or 'in the Spirit.')
We have that connection with God which we call the Holy Spirit. Jesus lets us know this is an intentional gift from God to connect us to Him and to his Word. The Holy Spirit should be such a vital part of my being that I am always aware and in communication with it. It is not a backpack that I take off and look inside when I need something. The Holy Spirit is part of my being. It is God within my very soul.
Holy Lord, you have made yourself accessible to me. You dwell within me. I must always remember, and always be in communication with your Holy Spirit. Amen

1 Corinthians 6:17
But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.
One spirit with Him—of course, I’m reminded of a song. “They’ll know we are Christian’s
By our love.”
It begins:
We are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord.
It ends:
“All praise to the Father from whom all things come and all praise to Christ Jesus, God’s only Son, and all praise to the Spirit who makes us one.”
I think this composer speaks clearly to this verse.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for the talents of our hymn writers across all generations. Amen

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit guides us because we believe in Jesus Christ. It is He alone who can help us on the right spiritual paths. Being led by the Holy Spirit is trusting God to do what He says He will do, and listening for His still, small voice that urges us to do what’s right in any situation. It sounds simple, but for me it wasn’t always clear until it was. Wash the window and you will see more clearly.
Lord keep the Holy Spirit present in my heart, through my morning and evening prayers, through…
1Corinthians 6:17
Scripture describes the marriage relationship as “becoming one flesh.” This human counterpart is as close as it comes to the indwelling of the Spirit in the Christian. I do not do anything of significance without giving thought to how it will affect Becky. If I am in tune with the Spirit living in me that same thought process should take place so that what I do and say does not grieve the Holy Spirit. By the grace of God, my failures in both relationships have always been met by forgiveness. A Christian’s identity does not diminish when opened to the Holy Spirit. It gains in wisdom and learns to love.
