A Daily Devotion for Monday, Feb. 6

Romans 16:17-18

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

Hopefully, as we grow closer to Christ, it becomes easier to discern God's will for us. When faced with a decision moving forward, there may be forces which get in our way, or distract us, or slow us down. Sometimes these things represent Satan getting in our way; maybe in the form of a flatterer, trying to pull us off course, or temptation to take the easy way out. But the stronger my relationship with Christ, the more difficult it will be to pull me off course.

God above, I am thankful for your Holy Spirit, living in me. Help me to stay aware and alert, and on the right path. Amen

Becky, transforming
