Psalm 130:7
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
I find this verse poignant today. We, as Christians, have put our faith in the Lord by accepting Jesus as our Savior. We believe this is how we are redeemed. We believe that even in the OT, God was planning to send Jesus Christ. God keeps his promises, and we are redeemed through Christ. A fitting reminder in this Advent season.
Lord God, when I read about your relationship with Israel, sometimes it is confusing to me. But I know you love and take care of all of your creation. You have sent Jesus for me to follow, and I do this happily. Your grace is so precious, and is undeserved. Thank-you, Lord. Amen

Psalms 130:7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
If we believe in the Lord then we have his full love and we are redeemed, we are saved, without any other effort on our part. Our responsibility is to act like we are redeemed. Hope is another word for trust, and if we put our trust in the Lord then anxiety and fear are lessened, or disappear altogether.
Dear Lord, it is easy to say the words but another thing to act on them. Please strength my faith until I can blindly trust in You. Amen.
Psalm 130: 7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
Hope is such a necessary piece of my belief system, and my only hope is putting my trust in my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. When my hope is placed in anything other than God, I would find myself in a world of make believe. God sent Jesus to us so that we could follow Him into the light of redemption and eternal hope.
Dearest Lord, You are all powerful and loving. You give me hope when nothing else is working. I am so thankful that you sent your Son to us so that we could be redeemed. In…

Psalm 130:7
O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.
God surely forgave the Israelites and he will surely forgive us if we confess our sins to him. We cannot redeem ourselves. The Bible reveals that the depths of God’s love are unfathomable. We simply don’t have the ability to comprehend all the details of God’s great love for us. Deep in our sins, walking and living in a way that was absolutely different to God, truly lost and deserved nothing but God’s judgment. Yet even then, God’s heart was full of love for his creation. He did not give up and leave u…
Psalm 130:7
Advent is the season of waiting. Israel‘s history offers repeated examples of the consequences of failing to wait on the Lord. My own life has similar examples. What we forget in our impatience is God’s unfailing love. Yesterday, the pastor used Mike Slaughter’s term, “scandalous” in describing this love for us. Love this enveloping is the only hope for eternal redemption I have. In response I must continually discipline myself to wait on the Lord.
Prayer - Spirit of God, I sometimes lack Your fruit of patience. I thank You for the reminder in this morning’s time with You that Your unfailing love is the sole source of redemption. Surely this is worth any and all waiting that…
Psalm 130:7 Oh Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. This is a Psalm of assurance of the Lord’s forgiveness. If I read it differently, it becomes very personal. Oh Rosalind, hope in the lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. I believe we all need this reminder every now and then. Prayer: gracious God, my hope is in your unfailing love for me. Amen
Ps and there is that wonderful word again--overflows.
