Psalm 71:18
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.
This verse makes me a little uncomfortable if I put myself into the writer’s shoes. He acknowledges his responsibility to pass on his knowledge of God to those who come after him. He asks God to stick with him, even in his old age, so that he can finish well. Could I make this plea to God? Am I doing enough to be able to ask God to let me finish? Maybe on a good day I could be confident enough for this prayer.
Holy Lord, I know that you have given me opportunities to be a mentor. Teaching is not a strength for me, but I hope my life can in some way set a positive example. I will never stop trying my hardest to be the person you would like me to be. Amen

Psalm 71:18
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
In my life I have been deceived, had doubts and a lot of stress. Only as I got older did I get to know God through His Word. I have learned he can be TRUSTED and that I can have HOPE in Him and praise Him for who He is. In my younger years I have taught Sunday School for years. I have taught other women how to sew a quilt.helped raise younger siblings. My life has not been easy but I have experienced many…

Psalm 71:18
Well, King David is confronting the Transformers right where we are. The sure knowledge that God will never leave, nor forsake us should encourage and enable us to keep running the race. And not for our sake, our role is now to pass the Good News to the generations to succeed us. The beauty of this mission is in the myriad ways it can be accomplished and it does not require an advanced degree or specialized training. Love God. Love your neighbor. Repeat. Pass it on. I recommend a listen to the song by For Him called “For Future Generations.”

Psalm 71:18
The psalmist was worried that God might not need him as much now that age had weakened his body. He realized that while no longer a warrior for God, there was still much he could do to teach the next generation. I think God wants us all to realize we are never too old to be doing God’s work. There is always some small thing we can do. Those small things are important.
Prayer: Gracious God, May I never stop showing your love to others. Amen
