A Daily Devotion for May 29, Friday

But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

These verses hit home for me today. I know I am often envious of others’ gifts, wishing I had such gifts, and often blaming myself for not having them. I feel as if I don’t serve the Lord as “well“ as others so, I am failing. This gets me circling back to the same questions of why God chose to make me the way I am. (I do remember, Pastor Gil, this is not acceptable reasoning!) I will continue to try, today and moving forward, to recognize and be thankful for my gifts.

Holy Lord, you have given me so much, and I am thankful. I want to serve you in a way that is pleasing to you. Please guide me, Lord. Amen
