1Peter 2:13-17
Verse 17: Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
This verse is so full of perfect direction. I have no right to be mean or demeaning toward anyone. When I don’t agree, there are ways to express disagreement while honoring the other party. God is watching me, and He is the final judge of me and of everyone else of His creation. Sometimes I think it is difficult to resist throwing in some nasty descriptors or judgemental comments. That just shows God more about my own soul. It doesn’t change the person I disagree with. “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.“
Father God please help me to always be respectful of others. I should not be insulting or making fun of of those I am in disagreement with. There are better ways to express my disagreement. Help me to remember you are present with me at all times. May my words and actions be pleasing to you. Amen
