A Daily Devotion for June 5, Friday

Hebrews 3:1-6
Verse 6: But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.
I thought about these verses for a long time this morning, but found them difficult to apply to my life today. My thoughts kept going to my brother, who is the eldest sibling, and how he took care of my parents’ needs, and finally after they were gone, took care of their house and possessions. He took on that responsibility, and we counted on him to follow through. My brother Bill is not Jesus. But when Jesus took care of His creation by coming to earth to show us the way, he was acting as the most faithful son of God. He was taking care of God’s creation, paving the way for eternity.
Holy Lord, You came to dwell among us because we belong to you, and are important to you. We are your creation. I am thankful for your guidance and your love and my very life. Help me to see you every day. You are the ultimate father, and the ultimate son. Amen
