A Daily Devotion for June 2, Tuesday

Psalm 8

Verses 3-5 When I consider your heavens, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

This is such a beautiful psalm. Today, though, it makes me sad. God has given us everything-His entire creation, yet we cannot do the right thing. Humankind seems to be failing God in so many ways. Seeing all of the anger and violence, God must be crying. We have to do better. I don’t know what it will take to turn things around. How can I help?

Holy Father, make me an instrument of your peace. Please allow me to sow kindness and tolerance where it will make a difference. Bring us peace, Father- we need your hand in this situation. Open more eyes, I pray to you, God. Please. Amen
