A Daily Devotion for June 16, Tuesday

Psalm 86:1-10,16-17

verse 7: In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.

This verse is so like my life verse from Psalm 138:3. “When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.“ Knowing God is there to give me strength and peace is the cornerstone of my life. I don’t always do the right thing, and I don’t always remember to turn to God before tying to fix things on my own. Lately I have been preoccupied, as so many of us have been, with events in our nation. I have felt a small turning inside, an inkling I may be able to look at things differently and learn something new. I may even be able to do something (albeit small) to help with a bigger change. I am going to go with it. God is with me, and will give me courage.

Father God, maker of all things, guide me to do your will. I know you are with me, and you will give me courage. I will be bold and stouthearted. Amen
