Psalm 31: 9-15

Verse 9: Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief.

Apparently it isn’t known exactly what the trouble is for David at this particular time. David feels persecuted, conspired against, despised. I do wonder what happened to him, but the message for me this morning is to remember God’s constant presence no matter the circumstances. No matter how we read the situation, whether we were in the right or in the wrong, good decision or bad, God is here for us. He will help me to build myself up again if I only remember to ask.

Holy Father, you are there for me when I am miserable, no matter how I got to that place. I have you on my side, in my heart, in every situation. Amen

Psalm 31: 9-15

Verses 14-15 In times of stress, depending on God is the only route to go. Like my post yesterday it takes brutal honestly.. David is praying a desperate prayer for mercy. That his whole life had been an uninterrupted series of sorrows. This trouble has weakened his body and his spirit. David now thinks that all of this trouble that has come upon him, is because of the sins he committed earlier. Sometimes sin does bring great trouble. Because of this, David has about given up. He thinks he is too old to fight all of this. His only help lies in the Lord. He has cried so much that his eyes have run out of …

Psalm 31:14 - “But I trust in you, O Lord;

I say, ‘You are my God.’”

A life of faith is one of trust. One cannot exist without the other. That translates into a uniquely Christian response to life’s difficulties. No other religion speaks of a loving God who forgives. Ours is not a God of vengeance, “karma,” or raw, selfish power. This is why Jesus is the best hope for all and why Christians must live the Great Commission.

Prayer - Loving God, we place our trust and faith in You the Creator, Jesus, our Savior and the Holy Spirit our Sustainer. Our faith allows us to trust You will never leave, nor forsake us. Our trust allows us…

Psalm 31: 9-15

14 But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.”

Sometimes I wonder what God still has in store for me. How will I know what He wants me to do for Him? How will God work among us? What I have found and acknowledge is that life is a mystery and God is the author of the book. At some point I have to sit back and see what happens. What does God have in store for me? God works in mysterious ways and I trust Him to lead me to internal life.

Dearest Lord, you sent your Son to free us from sin. I put my trust in you my God and…

Psalm 31:9-15

It seems that the Psalms are full of conflict between people, which is hard for me to relate to. The part I can relate to is calling on god for deliverance. I feel that I have had a blessed life, but I have called on the Lord many times to help me or someone I know. Sometimes I get the response that I want and sometimes not, but I continue to ask because I believe He will answer if I’m asking for the right thing.

Dear Lord, I will never understand your plan for us, but I believe that you listen to me as much as anyone else and will answer if possible. Amen.

Psalm 31:9-15 14: but I am trusting you, O Lord, saying you are my God! 15: my future is in your hands….. In all his distress that David describes in Psalm 31, there is always the belief we read in verse 14. Trust in the Lord. David had such strong faith. There is an anthem our choir sings titled trust in the Lord. The words echo David’s lament. Trust when the night is darkest Trust when all hope seems gone Trust when you feel abandoned People of faith know where to turn in times of trouble. Where do those without a belief system turn? Prayer: gracious God help me to remember you and your love and protection even at life‘s lowest points. Help me to be more lik…
