Hebrews 13:2
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
I love the idea of being part of a chain of positive events. If I am helpful and generous to someone, they may be able to complete something they were doing which was part of a different or even a larger process. God may have put that person in my path specifically for my help. Hospitality may look a little different now than it did in when this scripture was written, but the lesson is clear.
Holy Lord, help me to see opportunities to show hospitality to others. I pray I can be a person you count on to do the right thing at the appointed time. I so want to be a part of the process, and to play a role in your good works. Amen

Hebrews 13:2
Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!
Why should we?
Matthew 25:40. And the King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me.” (“it” being clothed, fed, and visited.)
Prayer: Gracious God. Thank you for both of these verses. The true meaning of hospitality. Amen

Hebrews 13:
Do not forget to entertain strangers for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
As I am learning about more about hospitality I know it is a willingness in so far as I are able is an important part of obeying the Lord. It will also help me to show more love. As we get to know either Christian or non Christian strangers better, we learn how to love them better and thus have more opportunities to show brotherly concern. We should be going out of our way to be hospitable to fellow church members whom we do not yet know well.
Biblical hospitality is more than a beautifully presented meal…
Hebrews 13:2 Being kind costs us nothing. The times a stranger takes advantage of our kindness are few and far between and Scripture makes clear that it is worth the effort. I remember a few years back when our congregation was fleeced by a young man pretending to be something he was not. That experience has not eliminated or even curtailed our call to offer hospitality to the stranger. God honors this.
Prayer - Giving God, diminish our hesitation and fear in showing hospitality to strangers. Let us trust in Your word that our kindness has eternal significance that we may not appreciate in the here and now.. Amen
