A Daily Devotion for February 28, Monday

Galatians 3:26-28

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

God creates each of us as a unique being. There is no one individual exactly like another. And we are encouraged to celebrate our uniqueness, realizing we all have different gifts and abilities. But in the most important sense, we are the same, as Christians. We know Christ Jesus, and we follow Him. We should be able to follow Him in unity, as believers. I truly pray that somehow we can accept each others’ small differences, knowing we are all the same in Christ. Our differences in worship, rules, interpretations, really shouldn’t matter so much, but for some reason we each tend to think we have it right.

Father God, help us to see how we are the same, so that we may grow stronger in faith and in numbers. Amen

Galatians 3:26-28 We are all challenged to be the people who endure what ever comes along with a good attitude and to quickly pardon one another. Just as each day we choose clothing to wear that is comfortable and looks good on us, we also, have to make spiritual choices that are like Christ and as we do so, we will take on his characteristics and value. We are all clothed in Christ, no matter who we are. Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female . To create unity on a much smaller scale,( our church, our community) we need to appreciate people who are not just like us. All believers belong to Christ. No one is more powerful, privile…

Galatians 3:26 to 28 28. There is no longer Jew or gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. The words of verse 28 draws me, again, to the communion hymn “one bread one body.” The first verse of the hymn is taken almost directly from this verse of Galatians. “Gentile or a Jew, servant or free, woman or man, no more.” My study Bible tells me that ancient Jewish males often greeted the day praying: “Lord, I thank you that I am not a gentile, a slave, or a woman.” As Paul started churches throughout his travels, he put that morning prayer to rest. He taught that faith in Christ makes all believers one i…

In Christ we are all one. God is impartial. It is only the condition of our soul that can make us different. So we pray and with the help of the Holy Spirit we continue to stay one in Christ Jesus.

Dearest Lord, as your child I hope that I don’t disappoint. I know I sometimes stray but this is due to my humanness and lack of…

Galatians 3:26-28

“You are all one in Christ Jesus.” Paul could not be clearer, yet there remains bickering in the church. Standing on the authority of Scripture and the core principles of the faith as put forward in the creeds of the early church is one thing. Splitting churches and damaging fellowship over nonessentials is quite another. Paul reminds us of the correct priorities. it is our commonalities that unite. Our differences should not divide. Unity is not uniformity. Insistence on the latter is fueled by our original sin of pride, calling for repentance and coming to understand Paul’s core message.

Prayer - God of unity, teach us to be more reflective and open when encountering differences in theology or…
